Our Services

seki.design specializes in architectural design and project coordination across the Kansai region and beyond, building long-term relationships based on trust.

We work on custom homes, private retreats, apartments, mixed-use buildings, clinics, and commercial spaces. Our approach balances function and feeling—a balance that begins with dialogue. By listening carefully to how our clients live and what they value, we plan each project with intention. The results are spaces that respond to evolving lifestyles, remain structurally sound, and reflect the unique qualities of each site and context.

We provide support through every phase of the process—from structural planning to coordination with trusted builders—ensuring a cohesive and consistent experience. We also offer interior design services, including furniture, lighting, and curated artwork, to create spaces that are both thoughtful and expressive.

Our Design Philosophy

Begins with Dialogue

In residential architecture, we begin with conversation. It is through open dialogue with you—the homeowner—that we discover subtle clues which shape the essence of your home.

Even what may seem like a casual memory or fleeting preference can, when deeply understood, become the starting point for a design idea. That idea, in turn, may lead to a space even we as professionals hadn’t imagined at the outset.

More Than Layout

Requesting “three bedrooms and a decently sized living room” is not difficult for a designer. That’s simply solving a puzzle. But we believe a home should offer more—something personal and emotionally resonant.

Perhaps it’s kindness in the design. A breeze beneath the summer trees. The stillness of sunlight on a spring afternoon. We listen for the unspoken, and give it shape—because that shape will carry your future within it.

The Shape of Comfort

It might be a quiet tatami room, open to borrowed scenery. Or a spacious earthen floor that recalls your childhood home. Or a flexible layout that adapts as your children grow.

Rather than chasing specs or maximizing square footage, we ask: What makes your family feel at ease? We aim to discover that shape with you—and build a home that gently transforms how you live.

We welcome inquiries from those considering a bespoke home in Japan. Whether you have a clear vision or are just beginning to explore, we invite you to schedule a private consultation to discuss your thoughts in confidence.

Good architecture is not only about aesthetics—it must support long-term economic and functional sustainability. When working on commercial spaces, we begin by understanding the essence of the business and the people it serves. From there, we design environments that reflect brand identity while supporting smooth operations.

We offer strategic support from the early stages of planning, including cost efficiency, competitive bidding, and long-term asset considerations. Our goal is to shape spaces that are both purposeful and enduring.

Re: Dual Living House

我一直很期待有一面大大的书墙……石先生将我的想法落实,在2楼的开放空间做了一整面大书墙和一个阅读区域,这里成了我们一家人可以一起阅读,享受慵懒周末下午的家庭图书馆。

Effortless Collaboration

Our lead architect, Noriaki Seki, is not fluent in English. However, we have a clear and well-structured communication system in place to support smooth collaboration. All communication is conducted in English, with careful attention to clarity, cultural nuance, and mutual understanding. By combining thoughtful workflows with the right tools, we aim to make the entire process both efficient and reassuring.

How We Ensure Clear Communication:
01/ Simple english

Clear, jargon-free language helps
make every step easy to understand,
even for non-specialists.

02/ AI & digital tools

We use real-time translation tools
and 3D modeling software to keep
communication smooth and visual.

03/ Online meetings

Scheduled Zoom or Meet sessions,
with agendas and summaries,
ensure alignment at every stage.
