We renovated a residence filled with memories and the charm of an earlier era. The concept was “inheritance.” While recognizing the potential of the original architecture, we sought to carry forward its history and taste, weaving in modern elements.
For materials, we used authentic finishes that acquire richness over time, allowing the space to be passed on to the next generation.
The living room is furnished with a bioethanol fireplace and a central sofa. The fireplace produces no soot or smoke, making it easy to enjoy the presence of a hearth. Around it, a sofa with movable backrests allows flexible use—whether facing the flames, the greenery of the garden, or the family gathered in the LDK.
The master bedroom is arranged with a slightly stepped-up bed corner, a study corner, a minibar, and a personal sofa oriented toward the terrace, evoking the feel of a hotel suite.
Uncovering hidden volume within the existing roof, the ceiling was raised along its slope—up to about 4 meters—and given a distinctive design. Lowered areas form calm corners for rest and study, while the higher ceiling provides a sense of openness. This variation brings rhythm and subtle zoning to the room.
